An oriental accent can be added to any room with the placement of shoji screen room dividers. Though screen room dividers were originally from China, the Japanese not only developed the craft but at the same time created an art form. By using rice paper for the screen, Japanese artisans used them as canvases and painted exquiste art work on them. They were not only used as room dividers, but as sliding doors as well.
